Terms & Conditions – CBT_BY_EC
These Terms & Conditions set out the agreement between CBT_BY_EC (“the Therapist”) and clients (“you”) engaging in therapy sessions. By booking and attending sessions, you agree to the following terms:
Terms & Conditions - the basics
1. Confidentiality

All sessions are confidential. Information will not be shared without your consent, except where there is a legal or safeguarding obligation (e.g., risk of harm to self or others, child protection, or court order).

Brief, anonymised notes are kept securely and in line with professional and data protection requirements.

2. Sessions

Sessions last 1hr unless otherwise agreed.

Sessions take place online
-
Consistency is important for progress; regular attendance is encouraged.

3. Payments
-
Payment is due 24 hours before session

Payment can be made via [bank transfer / PayPal / card].

Unpaid sessions will not proceed.

4. Cancellations & Refunds
-
At least 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a session without charge.

Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will be charged in full.

Refunds for pre-paid sessions are available only when cancellations comply with the refund policy.

“No-shows” are non-refundable.

6. Therapist Responsibilities

The Therapist will provide therapy in line with professional standards, ethics, and best practice.

The Therapist will maintain professional boundaries and create a safe, respectful environment.

If the Therapist is unwell or unable to attend, an alternative date will be arranged.

7. Client Responsibilities

You agree to attend sessions on time and to engage in the process as fully as you feel able.

You are responsible for informing the Therapist of any changes in your circumstances that may affect therapy.

Aggressive, abusive, or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in termination of therapy.

8. Ending Therapy
-
You may end therapy at any time. It is recommended to discuss this with the Therapist to allow for a planned ending.

The Therapist may suggest ending or referring you on if therapy is no longer suitable.

9. Emergencies
-
CBT_BY_EC does not provide crisis services.

If you are in immediate danger or crisis, please call 999 (UK), go to your nearest A&E, or contact Samaritans on 116 123.

10. Governing Law
-
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom.
